LANCASTER – An interesting winter sports season for Manheim Central’s Shelby Hontz.
Dual-sport athletes are hardly uncommon around the L-L League.
It’s a little less common when an athlete will compete in two sports in the same season.
Like soccer players kicking field goals for the football team, for instance.
Here’s an interesting double-up for you:
Hontz participated for the Barons’ rifle team and swam for Manheim Central’s swim team this past season.
Rifle and swimming.
On the rifle range, Hontz teamed up with Alyssa Keefer to finish second in the L-L League pairs championship, and she helped the Barons win the regular-season section championship.
