Jeff, about the only reason I subscribe to the Lancaster daily paper is for sports coverage. International, National, State and Local coverage on the net is already better than the New Era/Intell. If you could somehow dupicate the sports section here there’d be no reason to subscribe to the New Era.

    • Admin on April 4, 2011 at 11:04 am

Thanks for the note … I won’t be ‘duplicating’ the print stuff, but you can bet that you’ll find a TON of L-L League news here – breaking stuff, audio, video, etc. So stop by often – and please feel free to spread the link.

    Jeff,

Just wanted to tell you how great I think it is that you are back in action covering the llleague. Your coverage has been missed. Having two daughters who play lots of L-S sports I am always interested in hearing what you have to say. Welcome back!

    • Admin on April 6, 2011 at 10:48 pm

Hi Carol – Thanks for the note and yes, it’s great to be back. Long road ahead but a pretty good start. I received your Facebook requests as well. Thanks for following me there, and feel free to spread the link. Enjoy.

  3. Alie on April 7, 2011 at 2:06 pm

I saw your note about links and well you know me. Here is a link to the Penn Manor throwers blog :) Ms. Vita does a wonderful job on it. She updates the schedule page after every page with the scores/performances :)

Thanks Alie – got the link posted! Be sure to follow me on the new Facebook page and spread the link!

      • Alie on April 7, 2011 at 8:05 pm

Will do! Glad to see you have things rolling again!

  4. rowanprof on April 9, 2011 at 10:41 am

Hey Jeff. Thanks for putting this site together. You have always done such a great job covering LL sports.
I assume the site is helped by Ad clicks??

    • Admin on April 9, 2011 at 2:42 pm

Thanks for the note; much obliged. Site will be helped by advertising, and every ad will have a hot link, which will help out the advertiser. For more info, click on the advertising tab at the top of the page.

  5. Charley Lowe on August 18, 2011 at 12:41 pm

I love the sports diverstity of the site! During football season the rest of the sports get very little coverage in the printed newspapers until the playoffs start. You are all over the board covering all the sports. I love it! Thanks so much! Keep up the great work!

    • Admin on August 18, 2011 at 1:12 pm

Thanks Charley. Appreciate you stopping by – and don’t forget to spread the link to your friends and family. Much obliged.

Looks like your crystal ball is already tuned in. Gov. Mifflin beat Wilson:)

    • Admin on September 2, 2011 at 11:55 pm

Yeah, that was a gut-hunch pick. Wilson lost a ton of kids, and yes, while it is Wilson, everyone does a little rebuiding now and again. Mifflin is a major rival and we figured they’d be spitting fire for this one. Great comeback by the ‘Dawgs though to force OT. Wilson will be fine – Week 2 trip to Manheim certainly looks huge now; Barons will have momentum and Wilson will be licking some wounds. Bulldogs will still be there later. No worries.

  7. Greg on September 9, 2011 at 4:34 pm

Awesome site. Would love to see a scores section for quick reference.

    • Admin on September 9, 2011 at 4:59 pm

Hey Gregger – Trust me: If I could post every score, I would. But I’m a 1-man show here, so I can’t have coaches calling me with box scores every night. So I do what I can. Perhaps I’ll look into some ways of gathering scores and getting them posted – if nothing else, every couple of days. Also working on posting standings; thankfully I have help for that. Appreciate you stopping by the page.

      • Greg on September 9, 2011 at 10:51 pm

Great response. You may be one man, but you cover like 12. Incredible job.

  8. Jody M on October 8, 2011 at 9:02 am

    Jeff,
L-S just shutout the Barons. When was the last time MC got shutout at home? Thanks.

    • Admin on October 8, 2011 at 5:00 pm

Hi Jody – That is on my list of things to find this weekend. Stay tuned – will have a notebook out Saturday night/Sunday morning!

      • Jody on October 13, 2011 at 12:09 pm

        Jeff,
Have you been able to find out more on that MC shutout loss at home?

        • Admin on October 13, 2011 at 6:15 pm

I have not … sorry. My records only go back into the mid to late 90s or so.

          • Jody on October 18, 2011 at 1:36 pm

I’m sure there’s an MC fan reading this right now that knows. A shame they won’t step forward. For the kids.

          • Admin on October 18, 2011 at 2:17 pm

I know the gentleman who probably has this information, but he’s older now and is retired. Not sure how to get in touch with him quite frankly. I’m sure Manheim Central has been shutout at home before – it’s been a while. And, quite frankly, it’s not at the top of my priority list at the moment. If someone has that info, I’m quite sure they’ll pass it along to me :)

  9. Bman32 on October 15, 2011 at 9:17 pm

Will you be covering wrestling this year?

    • Admin on October 15, 2011 at 9:35 pm

As best as I can …. don’t forget: I’m 1 person here trying to cover every sport at every school; I do the best I can :)

      • Bman32 on October 15, 2011 at 10:21 pm

Will you be doing any live blogs? I am a pretty big wrestling fan.

        • Admin on October 16, 2011 at 11:27 am

Wrestling live blogs? You might be on to something there … that’s one sports I’ve never done a blog from. Best answer is … perhaps. I’ll definitely keep it in mind, especially for the big, big meets and postseason!

Breaking News: New “STAT” for L-L League: Jeff Reinhart’s L-L League e-News site has broken the “HALF-A-MILLION”
visitors mark! Remarkable. keep up the great work! You go boy! Thank you for your dedication and best regards.

    • Admin on November 1, 2011 at 6:07 pm

      Thanks John. Appreciate it.

  11. R. Helm on November 8, 2011 at 4:20 pm

You have been very quiet concerning the events at PSU. How do you feel about what has transpired at Happy Valley?

    • Admin on November 8, 2011 at 7:57 pm

Too busy covering L-L stuff quite frankly. Sad, sad situation. Makes you sick to your stomach. I met Sandusky once or twice back in the day when I covered PSU a little more for the paper. He was always kind and kinda timid. Shocked. Stunner. Disgusting. Awful. And yes, Joe must go.

  12. Sandy on November 12, 2011 at 8:41 am

Jeff….GREAT job covering ALL the LL sports. I enjoy the podcasts, pics and insight as to what is happening around the league! Your site is becoming the “go to site” for info!

  13. Jody M on November 12, 2011 at 1:56 pm

Congrats to all L-L League schools that made football Districts, especially Lancaster Catholic, L-S and Wilson all advancing. Although you had to look past the full-page spread of MC losing. You do a great job of not being biased – keep up the great coverage.

  14. Janet Sheehan on December 11, 2011 at 7:56 am

Hi Jeff….now that golf is over will we see you covering any wrestling? Thanks for this nice little site! I notice one empty box on the header….looks to me like the word “wrestling” would fit nicely…..:)

    • Admin on December 11, 2011 at 10:37 am

Hi Janet – Will do the best I can with wrestling. Remember: I’m 1 person trying to cover every athlete at every school in the L-L League, so that’s kind of daunting. I have a few people around the league that said they’d keep me posted on the wrestling comings and goings, so I’ll have some wrestling posts – no worries.

  15. Rob on January 5, 2012 at 12:21 am

Hey guys, it’s great to give Jeff all these compliments and accolades. But, truth be told – this site and Jeff’s excellent reporting will be short lived … UNLESS … businesses come forward and advertise on his site – so what needs to happen is if you or someone you know has a business, have them contact Jeff and take out the business-card ad …. it’s probably one of the best values around. We have all seen many GREAT PRODUCTS FAIL because there was a lack of funding ….. Jeff’s product (his brain, pen and Web site) is no different. Get the word out so Jeff can “STAY IN THE GAME” (to coin his phrase).

  16. Ellen on January 11, 2012 at 4:51 pm

Hi Jeff: I am glad someone is finally covering the bowling in high schools. The atheletes in this sport are overlooked very frequently. Will you be covering the District 3 championship at Berks Lanes and the L-L League Championships this year? Thanks and keep up the good work!

    • Admin on January 11, 2012 at 6:06 pm

I would say there is a very good chance that I will be covering the L-L and D3 championships later this season, yes.

  17. Mike on January 13, 2012 at 12:42 am

Jeff … Was wondering why you haven’t said anything about the tragic car crash of Ernie Firestone on Dec. 31. He was the first Cedar Crest boys’ basketball coach, won a girls’ district basketball title and, of late, was the assistant coach on Cedar Crest’s league title team a few years ago. He was a Cedar Crest icon.

    • Admin on January 13, 2012 at 1:00 am

Well said Mike – a Cedar Crest icon, indeed. Sorry … I should have posted something about Ernie, whom I did get to know over the years from covering his teams. Truly a tragedy. Dealing with the loss of my grandmother – my last grandparent – who passed away last week. Not an easy time. I will include some stories about Ernie with my basketball notes this weekend. I promise.

  18. mark h on January 15, 2012 at 12:23 pm

Any update on the Ephrata football opening?

    • Admin on January 15, 2012 at 1:53 pm

Was told 2 finalists and that a name will be presented for the February school board meeting. One candidate is Scott Shelley, former Cocalico assistant coach under Phil Kauffman. Don’t have the name of the other finalist, but know he is an assistant coach at a District 3 program (not L-L). Will post more as I get it.

  19. rob on February 16, 2012 at 2:17 pm

Rob Barrett, Garden Spot OT, Bloomsburg

    • Admin on February 16, 2012 at 3:02 pm

Well aware of this. Waiting for coach to send some photos along :)

  20. Mike on March 30, 2012 at 12:06 am

Jeff … did you see Derek Fisher’s line yesterday? 4-for-6, 2 doubles, a triple, a grand slam and 7 RBIs. NOT BAD!

    • Admin on March 30, 2012 at 10:58 am

YES, did see his line. In fact, I have some video I’d like to post. Busy couple of days.

  21. greg on April 17, 2012 at 2:39 pm

Would love to see a standings section for all sports. Any Web site that has that? Is there an official L-L League site??

    • Admin on April 17, 2012 at 9:55 pm

This is about as close to the ‘official’ L-L League site as you’re going to find (and working on that a little more, actually). I’d LOVE to post full standings, but I’m a 1-man show, trying to cover everything by myself. I’ve had coaches in the last years who have sent in standings, which I’ve gladly posted. Maybe next school year I’ll do a better job making sure to get the standings in every sport. Sit tight – and thanks for the suggesting.

  22. Kelly on April 21, 2012 at 11:42 am

Love everything about your Web site! Wish there was 5 of you covering sports. For being a “one-man show” you sure do have a ton more coverage than any newspaper that’s for sure! Thanks much!
